Your words. Left alone.
Machine translation translates everything that looks translatable — including names that have no translation. A glossary in fintutto does not solve this by asking the translator nicely. It solves it by withholding the protected terms from it.
Only your guest hears the problem
You speak your own language and hear your own voice. What actually arrives in the target language never reaches you — not even when a place name has turned into something else entirely.
Three steps, once per tour
A glossary is quick to set up and then applies to every tour you assign it to.
Collect the terms
Add them yourself — or let the AI suggest them from your tour description. It proposes at most eight terms, each with a short reason.
Preserve or translate
Entering just the term means it stays untouched. Adding a target translation means exactly that wording is used — never a variation of it.
Assign it to the tour
Pick it when creating or editing a tour. Several glossaries per tour are possible — your house vocabulary plus a special topic.
What happens to your term along the way
Six stations from the spoken word to your guest’s ear. Switch the glossary on and off and watch the difference.
For you — and for your team
Two levels, depending on whether you guide alone or work with several guides.
Your own library. As many glossaries as you like, effective immediately, editable at any time. Share them with your organisation if you want to.
For agencies and venues with several guides: draft, review, publish. Every tour pulls the released version — nobody works from a draft by accident.
Where it makes the difference
Anywhere names and specialist language make up a large part of what you are saying.
Place names your guests will look up later. Translated, nobody finds them again.
Specialist language with fixed equivalents — or none at all. Both can be defined.
Product names stay product names. Even when they look like ordinary words.
Designations of origin are legally protected — linguistically they should be too.
Terms where an approximate translation quickly comes across as disrespectful.
Two safeguards
The protection is also built for the case where something goes wrong.
A gap beats a wrong sentence
If the system detects that a protected term did not survive the translation intact, that segment is not delivered. Your guests never hear something you did not say.
Frozen before you start
Your glossary is locked in when the tour begins. The terms stay the same from the first minute to the last — even if someone edits the library in the meantime.
Protecting proper names in live translation · Translating technical terms consistently · Keeping place names unchanged · Aligning terminology across several guides · Protecting brand names from automatic translation · Glossaries for tour guides and museum tours · Keeping specialist vocabulary consistent across 77 languages
Which plan includes this?
Glossaries are part of GuideTranslator — not as an add-on, but because without them translation stays unreliable wherever proper names appear.
